The English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Language, Arts, and Culture, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, held the Academic Concentration Info Session 2026 for 2024 English Literature students on Wednesday, 1 July 2026. Held online via Zoom, the session introduced students to the three academic concentrations available in the program: Literature, Linguistics, and Translation.

The session was opened by the Coordinator of the English Literature Study Program, Dr. Rachmat Nurcahyo, S.S., M.A., who provided an overview of the academic concentration options and their relevance to students’ academic development.

Each concentration was subsequently introduced by its respective speaker. Dr. Ari Nurhayati, S.S., M.Hum. presented the Literature Concentration, highlighting the study of literary works and the ways literature can broaden perspectives, deepen understanding of human experiences, and develop critical thinking. Purwaningtyas Dwi Astuti, M.A. introduced the Linguistics Concentration, discussing language as a complex phenomenon and the ways linguistic studies explore language, communication, and society. Meanwhile, Dr. Tyas Gita Atibrata, S.S., M.A. presented the Translation Concentration, introducing students to translation studies and the knowledge and competencies involved in bridging languages and cultures.

The session provided 2024 English Literature students with an opportunity to learn more about the focus, scope, and academic possibilities offered by each concentration before making their academic choices. Through this session, students were encouraged to consider their interests and future academic and professional goals when selecting the concentration that best suits them.
