Summer Camp with Kordula Schulze and Julianne from University of Münster

As part of the "Diversity in Teaching—Diversity in Teaching” project funded by DAAD, the University of Münster and Yogyakarta State University collaborated in holding an intense summer camp for four days, Monday to Thursday, October 3 to 6, 2022, in Segajih Village, Kulon Progo. The event was attended by four student representatives from the University of Münster, eight undergraduate students majoring in English Literature, two undergraduate students majoring in German, four Masters students, and two PhD students from the State University of Yogyakarta.

In this camp, the participants were actively involved in discussions and activities to discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion in the global community, led by Kordula Schulze and Julianne from the University of Münster. Participants are divided into several groups to discuss how this topic can be taught to diverse communities, especially students.

A series of activities carried out after the camp included visits to several schools, such as SMP Tumbuh, SMA De Britto College, SD Sapen Muhammadiyah, SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta, and SMA Marginal. Visits to several schools are a continuation of the previous intensive camp, which aimed to implement the material that participants had discussed with groups of students from various levels of education.
