One of English Literature students, Kurniawan Sukresna (2016) left went to Malaysia to compete at INDES (International Innovation, Invention, and Design Competition). The event was held from 18^th -19^th of September 2019 by Universiti Teknologi Mara Cawangan Perak. In this competition, the team consists of five members from different faculties in UNY and the leader of this project was Tiara Titania from faculty of engineering who has initiated the idea of invention. Meanwhile, the English literature student worked as presenter and translator the project.

The invention presented in teh event was entitled The Scientific Utilization of Corncob and Limestone Powder Waste as Additive Materials in The Creation of Concrete or in bahasa they called it as Beton Tongkol Jagung dan Limbah Jagung (BETJAK). This product was about utilizing the corncob waste and limestone waste become additive materials and reinventing the wastes to save the environment, minimize the cost of production and increase the main product, concrete.

There were more than 200 teams who joined this competition and divided into four categories. They from different levels, starting from elementary school until the highest levels which were from some companies in Malaysia. This invention was awarded as the winner of best presentation category from Universiti Teknologi Mara. (WaS)
