Joining Credit Transfer Program at Aichi University of Education (AUE), Japan

FBS - Karangmalang. Wednesday (10/16/2019) One of the students from the English Literature Study Program, Ichsan Nurfauzi, joined the Credit Transfer program at Aichi University of Education (AUE). She spent two months there. This was a great opportunity for him to feel the Japanese academic atmosphere while enjoying the beauty of the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan. For two months, Ichsan took two courses which were equivalent to courses at UNY that were Phonetics and Philology. Besides, he also joined seminar classes during his study at AUE. The university offered a Japanese class for foreign students to deepen their mastery of the language and the cultures. In addition to academic activities on campus, there were activities outside campus such as school visits on Saku Island and in Okazaki, Tea Ceremony at Senior High School affiliated to the Aichi University of Education, and a trip to Shiga Island.

For Ichsan, this transfer credit provided some benefits. First, through this program students experienced a new culture life because there are a lot of differences between Indonesia and Japan in tradition, language, style of conversation, clothes, and so on. Second, during the exchange program, he got the opportunity to learn a new language. For a few months, he has practiced conversation with native speakers, so he can improve his Japanese language skills. Third, he made new friends from other countries, and then this gave him the chance to know about people from different backgrounds. Fourth, he could get self-development and awareness to enhance self-confidence, self-esteem, maturity, and social poise. (IchN)
